Posted Date: 02/23/26 (12:28 PM)
Cascade Families,
We are under way in the second semester of our 2025-2026 school year and excited to continue to celebrate progress and growth for our students.
We want to celebrate their academic habits, academic achievements, and their school related experiences, as the year continues.
Below are some recent recognitions, celebrations, and reminders regarding goals and habits we are working to build as part of our culture at Cascade.
Cascade Honor Roll
- To kick off the semester, we were able to celebrate 225 students that earned Honor Roll and/or Principal's Honor Roll.

Bethel Middle School Sports
- This weekend our Bethel Middle School Basketball season came to a conclusion with Cascade bringing home 5 titles!
- Great to see the extra our students put into being part of our Cascade teams, meeting both academic and pro-social expectations in order to compete athletically.
- Special thanks to our staff and volunteer coaches, along with athletic coordinators, and resident scorekeeper Holly Hernandez.
- We are in the process of getting banners made to celebrate our players and coaches from this winter season.
- 8th graders asked for a day off in recognition of their achievement; I told them they could take this Saturday off from school; hopefully they are appreciative:)

Cascade 90/90 Club
- Today we are honoring the habits of our Cascade Scholars by recognizing students that earned a spot in the Cascade 90/90 Club.
- Students being recognized are exemplifying our values of Showing Up and Working Hard. This matters!

Moving Forward in Semester 2
- We will continue to build our academic culture around showing up and working hard, believing that these habits will lead to continued improvements in outcomes and student experience.
-
To put it simply, regular attendance and work completion lead to greater learning and passing course grades(e.g., A's, B's, and C's).
- Small changes in the right direction can have a large impact on whether or not students are earning passing course grades.
-
For example (See graphic below):
- On average, students attending around 8 out of 10 days and completing nearly 8 out of 10 assignments are earning D's and F's in 3 or more of their classes
- Compare the above with the percentages for students passing all of their classes (i.e., earning C's or higher in all of their classes).
-
- Small changes in the right direction can have a large impact on whether or not students are earning passing course grades.

Short-term School-wide goals
- 75% or more of students attending 90% or greater
- 70% or more of students completing 90% or more of their coursework
- 60% or more of students earning C's or higher in each of their classes
- (Posters are displayed in halls and on monitors, thanks for promoting at home in conversation with your student)
