Bethel has a lot to celebrate: Graduation rates rise again

Posted Date: 01/29/26 (08:00 AM)

Dear Bethel families,

As graduation data is released for the 2024–25 school year, we are excited to share some good news and take a moment to celebrate our students, our staff, and you — our families.

For the fifth year in a row, Bethel students continued to graduate at high rates, showing steady progress year after year. This year, our district graduation rate increased from 83.6% to 84.5%. Our graduation rate remains higher than the state average and continues to be the highest rate in our region.

These are the highest graduation rates in Bethel School District’s history!

Both of our high schools saw exciting improvements. Willamette High School increased its graduation rate from 89.9% to 91.6%, and Kalapuya High School increased from 46.3% to 53.8%. Across the region, both schools reported the highest graduation rates among schools like them. Seeing both schools moving forward together year after year shows the strong foundation we are building for students across our district.

This success belongs first and foremost to our students. They showed determination, perseverance, and a willingness to keep going even when learning felt challenging. These results also reflect the dedication of the adults who support our students: teachers, staff members, coaches, parents, guardians, family members, and community members.

Working together we create systems of support for all students. In Bethel, we focus on building relationships, offering support when students need it, and providing opportunities in classrooms, career-focused programs, and activities outside the school day that help students feel connected and motivated.

Graduation rates are more than numbers. Each one-percent increase represents roughly 4-5  more students who are on track to earn a diploma and move confidently into their next chapter. We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful for the community that supports them every step of the way.

Thank you for being part of the Bethel community and for the many ways you support your students and our schools each day. We’re proud of this progress and excited for what lies ahead.

Kraig Sproles
Superintendent
